"One of the worst things you can do as an actor, I think, is to forget your lines, and then get so flustered that you start stabbing the other actors."
          -- Jack Handy

The BOHS Drama Department offers three different levels of drama as course studies.  Students may sign up for a drama class as an elective, but students may also choose to audition into one of the advanced courses.  Also, if students are a little intimidated by audiences and would rather appear behind the scenes, BOHS offers an after school theater technical program.  To learn more about the BOHS Drama Department's courses, click on the links below.

Drama 1 is the beginning drama class.  It's a basic introduction to drama.  The course focuses on the history of drama and various techniques.  By the end of the course, students will be prepared to perform numerous monologues and scenes.

Drama 2/3 is a course designed to tone and improve students' acting abilities.
In addition to perfecting performances with intense scene study, students focus on the technical aspects of theater and the study of famous playwrights.

Play Production is the advanced drama class.  Students enrolled in this course will continue their work in the theatrical arts.  Students will have the opportunity to perform various theater festivals and in full-length theatrical productions.

Theater Tech

Theater Tech is an after school course in which students study the technical aspects of the theater.  Students will learn how to work as a member of the stage crew as well as how to run both sound and lights in the Performing Arts Center.
